Atlantic Matters Poll – Liberals Maintain Strong Lead in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX,  NS – The Liberal Party continues to lead in Nova Scotia, with 51% support (up 4 percentage points since December).

Among decided and leaning voters, the Progressive Conservatives have 27% support (up marginally from 25% last quarter), followed by the NDP at 15% (down 5 percentage points) and the Green Party at 4%.

The Liberal Party continues to have strong support province-wide across both urban and rural areas of the province. The Liberals are polling strong across males and females and all age groups.

MQO also asked respondents which party leader would make the best Premier of Nova Scotia. New Liberal Leader Ian Rankin was the top choice among decided voters at 46% followed by Tim Houston, Leader of the PC Party at 30%, Gary Burrill, Leader of the NDP at 18% and Thomas Trappenberg, Leader of the Green Party at 4%.

The poll of 401 Nova Scotians was in the field from February 10th to the 25th, 2021.
