The A.I. Content Coder accepts files for upload formatted as follows (see annotated example below):
- CSV or XLS/XLSX
- Col A: Respondent IDs (A1 is header, the text here is ignored)
- Col B…
- (cell B1) Question wording (used during “Generate Codebook” to provide the A.I. with relevant context)
- (cell B2) Verbatim responses to be coded start here
Other important file preparation notes:
- Only content on the first sheet in the document will be used. (sheet name is ignored)
- Remove blank cases prior to upload. (That is, if a Respondent ID is present in Col A for a given row, there should also be response content in Col B of that row).
- Ensure no empty rows between valid responses.
- Can accept short or long responses. Upload will clip any individual response to a maximum of 5,000 characters (which is really quite long).
- Can accept any number of responses. (rows)
- Note that Qoken usage is influenced by overall number of responses, and average character counts across the responses.
- The order of the responses in the uploaded file is automatically randomized upon upload. You can download a copy of the responses in the randomized order used in your session by clicking the button after upload:
